SCHOOL OVERVIEW

Chestnut Grove Child Development Center

Enriching Preschool Children Since 1964

Chestnut Grove offers classes for two, three and four year-olds, 2-, 3- and 5-day programs. Our program provides opportunities for children to develop strong social skills and imagination, relate to teachers and other children, follow directions, listen and experiment with a wide variety of materials.

Chestnut Grove promotes cognitive development using Creative Curriculum, a developmentally-appropriate hands-on program, with structured daily activities in a play-based environment.

Children are encouraged to participate in all activities, but they are given the flexibility to pursue their own interests. Time is provided for language and math skills, science discovery, exploration of different art media, and learning about the world around them.

Social/emotional development is a large part of the program, as we help children experience enhanced self-confidence and independence, and improve cooperation, communication, and listening skills that will serve them long term.

The emphasis is on the whole child, as an individual, with the goals of sparking their curiosity, imagination and creative thinking while fostering a love of learning.

We admit children regardless of race, color, sex, religion and national origin. Children with special needs accepted under the ADA guidelines.
